It was a great week here in SA!
The week started out quick with a few regular days of doing ya know...regular missionary things. But Portia, Lindo, and Musa should all be getting baptised this week so Im super stoked for that!
Then came the good stuff! On Sunday over 7000 people from stakes all around Johannesburg joined together for a conference with Elder Jeffery R. Holland and Robert C. Gay! Our zone was chosen to help usher the people in and it was so awesone to see the excitement in the members faces upon hearing rtbw words of an apostle of the Lord. In the opening talk, given by a returned sister missionary, the quote "I didnt come this far, to only come this far" stood out to me as a reminder to never give up and that Jesus Christ is always our advocate.Sister Holland gave a powerful talk about the power of prayer. Elder Holland spoke about how NO MATTER the trials or difficulties we go through in like, the gospel of Jesus Christ is the answer. This conference was amazing and something Ill never forget.
Then on Monday our mission had another conference with Elder Holland! All 160 of us were there plus a few missionaries from the Botswana/Namibia mission who were close by. I was able to shake Elder Hollands hand and it was super cool! He spoke to us about how mission is real life! And we can't forget about the things we do everyday on mission when we go home. Like praying, reading scriptures, and missionary work!
But yeah its been great here in Etwatwa! I feel very blessed to have been able to listen to the worst of an Apostle of the Lord!
